Sheron Prakasia (BEd, BSc)

We welcome Ms. Sheron Prakasia back from her maternity leave this year as she rejoins us to teach Grade 9 and 10 Science and Technology as well as Grade 11 and 12 Biology and Chemistry. Sheron is a passionate science teacher. She completed Bachelor’s degrees in both Chemistry and Education. She then completed her Master’s degree in Chemistry from Mahatma Gandhi University, India.

Sheron strongly believes that education shapes an individual, not only in academics, but in their overall development. In her words, “A teacher should help each child engage with the world beyond the classroom, because teaching and learning aren’t confined to books or school. Learning should be enjoyable, so that students feel inspired by it—not burdened.” Sheron has experience teaching students with learning exceptionalities and she is ready to make any changes to her teaching style in order to achieve success for each child. She strongly believes that each child is important and that their learning needs have to be assessed regularly.
