Camp Muskoka

Our students returned from three unforgettable days at Camp Muskoka. From conquering treetop trekking while soaring through the Aerial Park on a zipline, to archery and the blanket toss, every day was an exhilarating adventure. Evenings were filled with campfire fun, gooey s’mores, stargazing under the night sky, and dancing by the lake. The trip was packed with adventure, teamwork, and school spirit, and everyone is already counting down to next year’s trip!

French Canada Trip

Some of our students joined visiting students from Istanbul for a journey through Canada’s French-influenced cities – Ottawa, Montréal, and Québec City. They explored Parliament Hill and ByWard Market in Ottawa, Old Montréal and Mount Royal, and the streets of Old Québec, where they took in the charm and history of the iconic Château Frontenac. With guided tours, Canadian classics like poutine and beavertails, and shared experiences along the way, this was truly an unforgettable trip!

Istanbul Exchange

This month, we welcomed students from our sister school, Keystone International Schools, for an unforgettable two weeks in Canada. From visiting Toronto’s landmarks, university campuses, and Québec City, to making new friendships and experiencing life at Keystone, it was incredible to watch our students create memories together. Read more about their visit on our blog here!

Experiential Learning

Our students have been exploring subjects like art, biology, history, and geography through experiential learning opportunities including field trips to the Gardiner Museum and the Toronto Archives, as well as interactive biology labs.

Gardiner Art Museum

Our visual art students visited the Gardiner Museum for an immersive ceramics experience. Students explored “In Search of Imperfection: The Macdonald Collection of Japanese and Japanese-Inspired Ceramics” through a guided tour, then created their own clay sculptures in the Sculpted Identities workshop, led by a museum educator. It was a wonderful opportunity to uncover the stories told by ceramic works and peel back the layers of personal, cultural, and political identity embedded in them.

The Toronto Archives

Our CGC1W, CHC2D and CHV/GLC2O students visited the City of Toronto Archives for an interactive civics, history, and geography learning experience. They explored how municipal government works, debated local local issues affecting our community, and uncovered the history of their neighbourhood through original maps and photographs.

SciHigh Gel Electrophoresis Lab

We were excited to welcome SciHigh into our biology class for an incredible hands-on demonstration. From working with micropipettes to running gel electrophoresis, our students got to experience lab techniques and see biology come alive beyond the textbook!
