Applying to a private school can be a detailed task that requires quite a bit of time and dedication. To make this process more streamlined for our Keystone community, we took the opportunity to speak to our Admissions Coordinator directly and find out more about her role at Keystone and what assistance she provides to prospective students and parents.
What is the role of the Admissions Coordinator at Keystone?
My name is Janille and I am the Admissions Coordinator at Keystone School. I serve as the first point of contact for prospective students and parents, meaning that I answer all incoming phone calls, emails and chat messages. If I am unable to answer a question, I will pass it on to the appropriate party, but I am in charge of answering any inquiries related to applications, as well as for scheduling school tours and student interviews.
How can prospective students and parents contact Keystone’s Admissions Coordinator?
I can be reached by any of the following methods whenever the school is open (on weekdays from 8:30am-4:30pm EST):
- Phone and Whatsapp: 416-422-4123
- Email: [email protected]
- Live chat on our website.
What are the steps to apply to Keystone School?
Applying to Keystone School is a rather simple process, and I am here to guide students and their parents every step of the way through our admissions process.
- Book a School Tour or Virtual Meeting – This is an opportunity to see our campus and get to know our staff and student body prior to applying. If you are an international student, we will arrange a virtual meeting with you to discuss your travel plans in detail and explain our programs to you.
- Submit your Application via our online application form, as either a domestic or international student. You will be required to include your ID (passport or birth certificate) and your most recent transcript or last 3 years’ worth of report cards.
- Schedule a Student Interview with our principal to discuss your transcripts and your course options for your academic year with us.
- Offer of Admission – Based on the student meeting, we will create a tentative academic plan for you and send it along with the Offer of Admission which outlines the tuition and fees and payment methods and options.
- Letter of Acceptance – If you are an international student, we will issue an official Letter of Acceptance to you once we have received your tuition payment. This document will be required during your visa/study permit application.
What documents are required to be included in the application?
As mentioned above, we require that the student submit a copy of their passport or birth certificate and their transcript or report cards for the last 3 years’ worth of schooling.
When is the application deadline?
We accept applications in our admissions process on a rolling basis, meaning that we are able to accept students into classes throughout the semester. Feasibility of them catching up in a particular course would be considered on a case-by-case basis.
*Note that for international students it is crucial to consider the timing of the visa application process and ensure that this has been begun well in advance of our academic year so that there is no risk of delays. For these students, we recommend that registration be completed at least 3 months prior to the start of their chosen semester.
What programs are offered at Keystone School?
At Keystone, we offer the Ontario Secondary School Diploma. We have also recently achieved candidacy as an IB World School and are working towards authorization by September 2025.
How can students transfer from another high school?
In our admissions process, students are able to transfer without issue from other schools, whether within Ontario, in other provinces/territories of Canada, or from elsewhere in the world. This is part of why it is so important for prospective students to provide us with their transcripts, so that our team of Academic Coordinators can take a look at what credits they have already earned and determine equivalencies in our programs and curriculum.
What are the tuition/fees for Keystone School?
All of our tuition and fee information can be found on our website here. Payment options and methods will also be discussed further when the Offer of Admission is provided to the parents and student.
Is financial aid available for students? Are there scholarship opportunities available?
Financial aid is available to domestic students via Apple Financial, and more information about this can be found here.
We provide scholarship opportunities to both domestic and international students. For domestic students, scholarship tests take place throughout the year and students can earn scholarships to cover up to 100% of the tuition. Merit-based scholarships are also available to international students which can cover up to 50% of the tuition.
Any last words for prospective students and parents of Keystone?
We are always overjoyed to welcome prospective students and parents into Keystone School to provide them with more information and give them a chance to see our teachers, staff and current students in action. Do not hesitate to get in touch and arrange a time to come into the school to see firsthand all that we have to offer!
