At Keystone, student life extends far beyond the classroom.

Our students are encouraged to take initiative, explore new interests, and connect with one another through a vibrant selection of clubs and committees. These activities are an essential part of the Keystone experience, fostering creativity, collaboration, and leadership both inside and outside the classroom.

Through student-led clubs, learners can pursue their passions — from arts and culture to STEM, debate, and community service — while developing teamwork and confidence. Our committees, such as the Yearbook Committee, Graduation Committee, Student Ambassadors, and Student Council, play a key role in shaping school life. They help organize events, welcome new students, and ensure that every voice in our community is heard.

Whether you want to launch a new initiative, represent your peers, or simply try something new, Keystone provides countless opportunities to get involved, build friendships, and make lasting memories.

After School Clubs

Engage, create, and connect through shared passions.

Our hands-on robotics program is meant to introduce students to engineering and STEM concepts in an engaging and accessible way. We partner with STEM Works, a youth-focused outreach program run by undergraduate engineering students at Toronto Metropolitan University. Students work in teams to build and program a robotic car to compete in a predetermined game using real engineering tools like 3D printers, laser cutters, and microcontrollers.

Creative Club offers hands-on art workshops after school. Using a mix of drawing, painting, printmaking, photography, and digital tools, among other traditional and experimental methods, students create artworks that reflect their experiences, culture, and imagination. Let your creativity flourish as we embark on exciting journeys of expression and artistic exploration together!

Athletic Club is for students who are passionate about sports, fitness, and living an active lifestyle. Members participate in a variety of physical activities, learn about health and wellness, and help promote school spirit through athletic events. Whether you’re a competitive athlete or simply enjoy staying active, this club is a great way to stay involved and energized.

Debate Club is a vibrant forum where students engage in lively discussions, honing their persuasive skills while exploring diverse viewpoints. From dissecting current events to debating philosophical questions, this club fosters an environment of critical thinking and respectful discourse.

Keystone is part of the EcoSchools initiative, focused on ensuring that our school community adheres to environmental guidelines and promoting environmental awareness. Some club events include school-wide informative presentations, Meatless Monday, Waste-free Lunch, various recycling projects, and getting rid of invasive plant species.

Our French Club offers an exciting opportunity for students to immerse themselves in the rich world of French culture. Through engaging lessons and activities, participants will develop their language skills while gaining a deeper understanding of French traditions, customs, and history. Join us for a memorable linguistic and cultural adventure!

At one of the most popular clubs at Keystone, our students work on curating, filming, and editing videos based on their own creative interests and ideas. You can see the fruits of their labour posted on our school’s Instagram page.

Martial Arts Club introduces students to the fundamentals of self-defense, discipline, and physical fitness. With the guidance of occasional guest instructors trained in various martial arts styles, members take part in hands-on sessions that build strength, confidence, and focus.

Guided by one of our staff members experienced in yoga, this club is designed to help students develop mindfulness, reduce stress, and improve physical well-being. Through gentle movement, breathing exercises, and meditation, members learn techniques to support both mental and physical health.

Zumba Club is where fitness meets fun in an electrifying fusion of dance and exercise! Join in a dynamic atmosphere where the rhythm moves you and the beats energize your body and soul.

Anime Club is a place for students to connect over their love of anime, manga, and Japanese pop culture. Members watch and discuss shows, share recommendations, and take part in fun themed activities. Whether you’re a longtime fan or just curious, everyone is welcome to join and connect over a shared love of storytelling and creativity.

Committees

Lead, represent, and help shape the Keystone community!

The Student Council gives students a voice in shaping the school community and representing the interests of their peers. Members take initiative in organizing school-wide events, holiday celebrations, and charitable projects that bring students together and strengthen school spirit.

Working closely with teachers and administrators, the council provides a platform for students to share ideas, address concerns, and make a positive impact on daily school life. Through this experience, members develop valuable leadership, communication, and teamwork skills — learning how to collaborate, advocate, and lead with empathy and responsibility.

The Yearbook Committee captures the moments, memories, and milestones that define each school year at Keystone. Members work together to design, photograph, write, and edit the yearbook — combining creativity with collaboration to tell the story of our vibrant school community.

From selecting themes and layouts to highlighting student achievements and special events, the committee plays a key role in preserving the spirit of each graduating class. Through this hands-on experience, students develop skills in design, writing, photography, and project management while creating something lasting that celebrates their peers and their shared journey.

The Graduation Committee brings together creative and organized students who help plan one of the most memorable milestones of the school year. Members collaborate with staff to design themes, organize ceremonies, and coordinate celebrations that reflect the spirit of the graduating class. By contributing their ideas and leadership, committee members ensure that the event is meaningful, personal, and a true reflection of the Keystone community.

The Student Ambassador Program empowers students to represent Keystone with pride and professionalism. Ambassadors play a key role in welcoming new students and families, supporting school events, and sharing what makes Keystone unique. Through this program, students develop leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills while modeling the values of kindness, inclusivity, and global-mindedness that define our community.

This club prepares Grade 7-12 students for the University of Waterloo’s prestigious math contests. Guided by our senior math teachers, students regularly complete practice tests and sample problems to sharpen their problem-solving skills and deepen their mathematical understanding.
