Lest We Forget

Our students gathered together for a thoughtful Remembrance Day ceremony at the University of Toronto’s Soldier’s Tower, taking time to honour the courage and sacrifices of those who served. It was a meaningful moment of reflection and gratitude for our entire community as students considered the lasting impact of service on generations past and present.

Touring Graffiti Alley

Our Grade 9 and 10 English classes enjoyed a trip down to Graffiti Alley to explore themes of identity, equity, diversity, and inclusion. Throughout the guided tour, they examined how graffiti can express individuality and promote conversations about social justice. The visit sparked deep appreciation for the ways art can shape and challenge the way communities understand themselves and one another.

After School Updates

We’ve added Chess Club into the mix! Students are welcome to join Ms. Ece after school every Thursday in Canberra to improve their chess game, working up to hopefully being tournament ready next term. Our updated schedule can be found here, along with a few highlights from this month!

Mentor planning sessions with the Student Mentorship Program have resulted in some great group learning with our student mentees as they take on new skills. Meanwhile, Keystone’s student-artists are deep into their new projects as the second session of Creative Club unfolds – here are the final pieces from last session! The Yearbook Committee is hard at work bringing this year’s yearbook to life. Students should look out for a meme contribution form next week!

In the Classroom and Beyond

This month, our Middle School students kicked off pickleball lessons at the Royal Canadian Yacht Club. Meanwhile, our Grade 7-9 students took a deep dive into the natural world with a “Relationships in Nature” program at the Royal Ontario Museum, exploring ecological connections and the delicate balance of ecosystems. On the upper school front, our Grade 11 and 12 science students engaged with the fascinating field of quantum chemistry, learning all about potential career paths and the cutting-edge research shaping the future of science. These hands-on learning experiences, both inside and outside the classroom, sparked curiosity across all grades!
