What was your favourite subject in school? What did you study after highschool?
English as it was a flexible subject and very versatile. I could express myself instead of learning a bunch of facts or formulas.
My university degree was a bachelor in English Literature and my majors in B.Ed as well were English and Geography. I went on to do my Masters in English Literature after that.
Were you an A+ student?
I would say I did my best. As I would work harder in the subjects I loved, which definitely did not include Math and Science.
If it were up to you, how would you measure academic success?
If it were up to me, I would say if I knew how to do real world tasks like doing your taxes, trading, financial literacy, soft skills, sensitivity towards nature and people. These would be the things I would think a successful student should have.
What did you want to be when you grew up?
A Doctor
What is your favourite thing about teaching?
I love that I can interact with students much more than just through academics. I love that I can learn so much from my kids that I would otherwise never have thought of and, not to mention…I get to know the latest lingo from them.
In which other teacher’s class would you like to enroll, even for a day? Why?
I would love to be in Mr. B’s class as I just love art like no other subject.
