Happy Halloween!

We started getting into the spooky spirit with our second annual Halloween bake sale – thank you to the families who donated baked goods and the students who participated! Student Council then took the celebrations to the next level at the Halloween party. Happy trick-or-treating!

3D Printing Practice

Our Grade 9 & 10 Technology students visited the Maker Bean Cafe earlier this month to get up close and personal with 3D printing – they attended a class on how to use TinkerCAD for 3D designing, then built their own creative works using the 3D printer!

In and Around School

This month, students engaged in a number of activities both on and off campus, while interacting with visitors from the TSO, YMCA, and more.

Exploring Future Pathways

Students have been busy discovering new opportunities for their futures! They attended our first Youth 4 Entrepreneurship session with the YMCA, where they learned about pitches and storytelling to sharpen their entrepreneurial skills. Meanwhile, universities from across the country visited campus for our Post-Secondary Fair, giving students a chance to explore programs, connect with representatives, and gather inspiration for their next steps.

Staying Active

Our students have been keeping active in a variety of fun ways this month. Our new basketball net has been a big hit, with students and the athletic club enjoying friendly games during breaks and after school. At the start of the month, our Student Council put on a Table Tennis Tournament, which brought out the competitive spirit in students and staff alike! And on October 22nd, everyone embraced the outdoors for Take Me Outside Day, featuring a sensory nature experience and a conservation-themed scavenger hunt.

Creativity in Action

Our students have been expressing their creativity in inspiring ways. We welcomed The Sonority Sisters, a talented violin and flute duo from the Toronto Symphony Orchestra, for a captivating performance and Q&A session. In the Creative Club, students completed their first pieces of eco-art, exploring themes of climate, community, and care for the environment. Meanwhile, our Grade 10–12 French students took their language skills into the kitchen, participating in a cooking studio activity where they baked delicious treats and presented their creations— en français!
