Chess for Beginners

Ages: 10 to 14

In this beginner’s chess camp students will learn how to play chess. In particular, students will

  • learn the principles and the key ideas of the game
  • plan and evaluate their moves
  • learn various opening techniques
  • practice their play
  • watch and evaluate games
  • complete multiple tournaments

Students will also play other games such as table tennis, air hockey, and various board games for fun and to improve their thinking and strategizing abilities.

This 5 full-day camp costs $295 and will open upon registration of 8 students.

Hands-on Science

Ages: 12-16

In this hands-on science camp, students will learn about Cell and Molecular Biology.

Students will have lab tutorials on:

  • Cell Plating and Growth Assay
  • DNA/Protein Extraction
  • DNA Gel Electrophoresis
  • Protein Gel Electrophoresis

All materials are included.

5 full-day camp costs $395 and will open upon registration of 8 students.

Environmental Adventures

Ages: 10-16

This camp combines investigative journalism with environmental awareness. Students will

  • get to know their ecological neighbors
  • practice inquiry, observation, identification & research
  • work in groups to test a hypothesis
  • plan and evaluate their moves
  • write an article, prepare a travel guide or a map

Students will be spending some time outdoors while conducting their research. They will be encouraged to use all their creativity for the final product, in terms of materials, delivery, etc.

This 5 full-day camp costs $350 and will open upon registration of 8 students.
